What was Hagar thinking?

Philip has been dealing with a horrible upper respiratory infection for two weeks. To add to it, he has had this horrible cough, and now nasal congestion. Over the past 3 nights, I have been watching him sleep. He is tossing and turning, intermittently waking up and talking in his sleep. It has been a very depressing few nights to the point that I was dreading nighttime. All I could do after tucking Philip in for the night was kneel at his bed and cry to God. It broke my heart to see him struggle so much to breathe. I tried cleaning his nose, using the nasal emollients we have used in the past to help, but nothing was helping. Finally, after praying I returned to my bed. I couldn’t sleep, but my mind just went to Hagar and her son, Ishmael from Genesis 21. Hagar finds shade for her son Ishmael in the wilderness after being kicked out of her home, then she goes “a good way off” supposedly so she wouldn’t see him suffer. I wondered how she must have felt. No where to turn, nobody to give an answer or provide water for her son. It was a desperate situation.

I prayed reminding myself that “God, you gave us this gift. Now, I’ve done all I know to do, Philip belongs to You, YOU must help him.” Then I walked back to my room. He struggled all night with his sleep.

I even went looking for that old breathing machine, the CPAP. I could not find the mask to go over his face. Philip was not happy about me mentioning the CPAP and did not want to wear it.

Last night,I reminded him of his promise verse for this year. Jeremiah 32:27 says “I am the God of all flesh, is there anything too hard for me?” We prayed together, believing in a peaceful night of sleep, because there is nothing too hard for our God. He still struggled last night, but I felt he rested better than the nights before. Please continue to keep him in prayer. I believe our God is up to something!!
God is reshaping the same clay to form a new vessel.

May God bless and strengthen each of you!

Philip & the Styleworks Fashion Show

Philip and Grant again were involved in the Styleworks Fashion Show to benefit the Siskin Children’s Institute. We’ve enjoyed seeing them on stage for the past few years, but this was the last year. :(
Well, let’s just say the last year for the Styleworks Fashion Show!!! God has moved in mighty ways in the past, and I know there is a calling on his life to do more for the KINGDOM. Please continue to keep the children in prayer. May God use LWR. Blessings!

Another revelation

As we were leading worship this morning, I could not even sing the words to “Made Me Glad” by Hillsong. Once I sang the words, “you have set my feet upon the rock,” I began to weep. The spirit of the Lord was just moving in that place. Even when I feel like Joseph, from Genesis 37, trapped in a pit in that dark and lonely place, and with so many questions, when I know that God has given me a vision and dream concerning Philip’s life but no results are evident….yes, My God has set my feet on the rock. While we were worshipping, the Lord reminded me of Philip’s promise verse for 2010. Jeremiah 32:27, I am the God of ALL flesh, is there anything too hard for me?

Yes, He is the God of all flesh, even Philip’s flesh, this little crooked back. He is the God of his flesh, and there is nothing too hard for my God!

I will rest in knowing this. No matter what, the vision, the call on Philip’s life will come to pass. While in that “pit” experience, may we all have the strength and humility to NOT ask questions or complain, but to put our hope in Him, and not in men. People will fail us, but our God is the same yesterday, today and forever! How great is our God!
God bless!
